Thank you, so very much. Finally. I think that I have something fixed on
my version of XP Home!

) Check Disk ran at every boot. I was getting tired
of seeing *.chk files. Now, Check Disk does not run at every boot! Went to:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_c.htm#cd
Went through every thing listed.
The following fixed it for me.
"""Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager
Look for the REG_MULTI_SZ value with the following name: BootExecute. This
value contains commands that will be executed at startup. The default value is:
autocheck autochk *
If you don't want any checks to be performed, delete all autocheck entries.""""
I deleted: autocheck autochk *
Rebooted. Ta Da!!! No Check Disk.
Now, I need to find out if Error Checking will run when I want it to run. Will
check that later. I have rebooted so many times in the last hour, now I want
to actually do something.
Thank you again.
