Windows cardspace??!!??**!!

Hi there, is there someone out there who can tell me what Windows Cardspace
is? what is it used for? I tried to open it and it won't.....get error 1053
when i try to start the service...whatever it is!! Thanks very much

Although the link you give specifically refers to Vista, I am running XP
Pro and have Cardspace in my Control Panel.

I can access it OK (without error messages), although I don't use it.

Still trying to figure out why I have it, if it is Vista specific.
