Windows Cannot Start

When I start up windows it always goes into a screen saying.

"Your computer was unable to start, Startup Repair is checking your system
for problems. If problems are found, Startup Repair will fix them
automatically. Your computer might restart several times during this process."

After many restarts it just goes to this screen all the time

It's broken. It could be caused by hardware, software, or both. Seriously,
that's all anyone can say because you didn't tell us anything about your
computer and its recent history. Here are some links that will show you
what details to include in your next post so we can help you:

Since you can identify the cause of the issue and since you can login once,
do a System Restore to before you installed the updates. If you can't even
login, you can boot with your Vista DVD and do System Restore from there.
Or you can go to Control Panel>Programs & Features (tick the Show Updates
box) and uninstall whatever updates got installed.

Then go to the Windows Updates applet in Control Panel and change the
setting from Automatic to something like "Download updates but notify me
when they're ready". Then examine the updates before you install them. You
generally don't want to install any driver updates from Windows Update.

To run System Restore, go to the Start Orb and in the Start Search box type
"System Restore" without the quotes. System Restore will appear in the
Programs result. Click on it, allow the UAC prompt, and follow the wizard.
