Windows cannot open this file

Hope this is in the right group:

I saw a file show up on my desk top while on line one day.
decided to see what it was clicked on it and got this
message about not being able to open file. I clicked on
the let ms help you find it and it couldn't do anything
for me. I have since used word pad to look at the file.
It has something to do with my address book in outlook.
The reason I was able to determine this was it listed the
one and only saved address in my address book . I did
have the msblaster worm and have since installed anti
virus and took I believe all steps in getting ride of
blaster. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the file have this symbol ~ as a shortcut on the
desktop?
