Windows cannot open template file

Gary

When I try to edit the default domain controller policy, I expand Computer
Configuration, Windows Settings, Security Settings. Under Security
Settings, there should be a User Rights Assignment section. I'm missing a
majority of the items under Security Settings and when I click directly on
it, the right hand pane in the MMC window says "Windows cannot open template
file."

I may be having some security issues on the server so I was guessing this
might be related.

Does anyone know what that message is saying or how to fix it?

Thanks,
Gary

Gary-
What sections are actually missing? All of them or just some?

Only two show up. IP Security Policies on Active Directory and Public Key
Policies. Account Policies, Local Policies, Event Log, Restricted Groups,
Registry...they all don't show up.

The one that is most important to me is Local Policies and User Rights
Assignment under that.

Thanks,
Gary
