Windows Calendar not working?!?

I read on google that many others also have a problem with getting a Windows
Calendar shutdown error on logon. Is there really no fix for this? I really
need the calendar function and it turns out it does not even work? How beta
is THAT?

some people have had results by using Task Scheduler, finding the Windows Calendar section and the Actions tab and removing the
/reminder
from the Start a Program line

remember what you did so you can replace it if it does not work for you.

Perhaps, but wont that disable the appointment reminder?
