Windows Black Boot Screen

Does anyone know if there is a way to decrease the amount
of time that the black Windows XP title screen with the
blue scrolling task bar appears on your screen during
bootup. Mine stays on for at least 30 seconds compared to
about 15 seconds just a little while ago. Thanks

The design goals for the consumer version of Windows XP on a “typical”
consumer desktop are as follows:
• Resume from Standby (S3) in ? 5 seconds
• Resume from Hibernate (S4) in ? 20 seconds
• Boot to a useable state in ? 30 seconds

The time taken from pressing the system start button to desktop is between ½
and 1½ minutes for XP. The times you gave, S, are the designed goals for
Longhorn I believe.
