Windows backup files

I've come across some discs I backed up data on using Windows ME.
Apparently, Windows Xp doesn't recognise the .qic file format. Anyone any
ideas how I can get this information back?

The best solution to recover those files would be to restore
them on a Windows ME system. If that's not possible, you might
want to take a look at this thread:

He states that the trial edition of BackupMyPc is capable of
restoring .QIC files. Since I've never had to resort to this
solution, I can't say for sure that it will work but it might
be worth a try. Here's the web site to download the program:
