I use windows xp pro. pentium 4, 2.53 GHz, 512Mb ram. I started the backup process of my settings to a floppy with windows backup program but cancelled after a few minutes.
Now whenever I start the backup process in advanced mode, I get a message'windows backup utility has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the
inconvenience. Please tell microsoft about this problem'(send error report). No problems in 'wizard mode'(the report was sent)
This was my first attempt at backing up my settings. Tried both a cdr/cdrw but it would not work. Decided to test the process with a floppy

What did I do wrong. Can I uninstall and reinstall. If so, how do I do it. I have the xp pro Cd. Any suggestions

You can cheat it some with a packet writing program like
Roxio Direct CD (comes with Easy CD Creator ) or DLA
You then use a CD or DVD to back up too.
