We have had Windows AntiSpyware running on this machine
for some time and we still get the Setup Assistant asking
for information (options). Why is the program still
asking?

Thanks,
Marsinah

I've also been having the same problems recently.

I'm running Windows 2000 and Office 2002. The Setup Assistant loads every
time I open MSN AntiSpyware. In addition, when I go to settings and ask it to
change something like "day of week for automatic updates" or "schedule a scan
for a particualar day/time" or even "set myself up as an advanced user and
also want advanced information" and hit "SAVE" it tells me that the
information has been saved. But, any settings that I put in, or any
checkmarks in the boxes that I put in ... dissapear right after that. It's
just not saving any of my personlized settings.

Yes ... I ran the installer cleanup utility given by Andrea Da Costa.

MSN AntiSpyware runs perfectly on another machine using Windows XP and
Office XP.

Any help greatly appreciated. It seems to have occcured sometime during
September.

The installer cleanup utility won't help with this issue, I'm afraid.

Here's what has worked for most folks:

1) uninstall Microsoft Antispyware
2) delete \program files\microsoft antispyware and all subfolders. You will
lose access to any quarantined items, and all history and customized settings.
3) reinstall Microsoft Antispyware

Give that a try--I think it'll fix this for you
