Windows AntiSpyware 1.0.701 now available

Best to double check your version number. In my experience, if you get 701,
it offers only upgrade. If you get the maintenance screen, you are probably
applying .615 over itself.

The downloaded installation file will ask you whether you want to "update"
or
"remove" MS AntiSpyware. So just choose "update" for the upgrade to
1.0.701.

Can you install this over the top or does it need a fresh install??

I haven't done a clean install of .701 to see what definitions it
includes--what did you find?

Just fresh downloaded AntiSpyware 1.0.701 and installed but found
that still show 1.0.615... why ?

Ira

I experienced the identical problem and have therefore decided to wait for
the release next week to try again.

Because each of you received .615 code, even though the download site
referenced .701.

If you aren't behind a corporate or ISP caching server, try again after a
few hours or days. It'll get to all the servers.

If you are behind a corporate cache, ask them to flush the cache.
