Windows Alarm

Does anyone know if they're going to make a Window's Alarm for Vista? I use
my computer for pretty much everything...it'd be nice to be able to use it as
an alarm clock and it would sound or flash when you set the time to wake up
in the morning. It'd be beneficial if you were installing something big, or
were doing something time-sensitive where you could set the alarm, go do what
you want, and the computer sounds it's alarm to tell you when you're
finished. I think it's kind of a cool idea. I'm sure it could be expanded
from what ideas I've put down...just a thought...

I haven't seen Vista yet - but I'm sure that the functionality for it will be
there. The reason for my supposing this is that I already use my system as
an "Alarm Clock" - by using Task Scheduler and scheduling a sound to play at
certain times. Scheduled Tasks are an important part of Windows (for
updating and scanning) so that it stands to reason that this feature will be
included in Vista.

All windows since Windows 95 with Plus!95 or NT4 can do this. Schedule some noise.

Thanks guys, that helps. I did realize you could do it through scheduled
tasks. I just thought that with all of Mac's new "gadgets" this could be an
important thing for microsoft to do through a marketing standpoint if nothing
else. "Wake up to music every morning with Vista" type of thing. I don't
believe that any of the Macs have a gadget such as this. Instead of making
the process complicated for those (most) users who don't know how to use
scheduled tasks, having it as a separate application in Accessories might
really catch some people's eyes. People love to fiddle with their
computers...here's one more way, it's useful and it's enjoyable. As a
college student, the more combining of gadgets, the better...now we wouldn't
even need an alarm clock...just a computer. Plus, it's good for microsoft
and the computer manufacturers when someone destroys their computer b/c they
don't want to get up in the morning...;) More profits b/c more people have
to re-buy. Haha. Thanks again guys...
