Windows Aero & Graphics Cards

Okay, I've been surfing all around the newsgroups, websites, everywhere..
but, I have found no places where there is a list of video cards compatiable
to use Windows Aero.. I was told by Dell that the RADEON® 9550 AGP Card from
ATI was my best choice for this.. but, I am uncertain.. and it does cost a
pretty penny.. so, please be clear and tell me if this video card is
compatiable enough to use Windows Aero.

(INFO: http://www.ati.com/products/radeon9550/index.html)

Thanks,
Jared

Go for nVIDIA. THe 6600/7600/7800/7900 work with Aero.

I'm using an ATI Radeon 9550 AGP with absolutely no problems whatsoever.
Got it half price (brand new) online at eBay..just be careful who you are
buying from!
Now if only I could say the same for Soundmax audio drivers...they keep
malfunctioning and I have no speech recognition at all.

The Vista specs call for a video card that is compatible with DirectX 9. I
would interpret this to mean that any of the cards recommended are probably
fine. Mine is running on an nVidia GF4 6200 with 256MB of RAM, and I have no
problems with all of the eye-candy enabled. Hope this helps.
