Windows Activation

I have had a number of HDD problems and as a result have
had to reinstall XP a few times. I am now told by online
activation that I have exceeded my number of
registrations. This is really irritating as it dosent
seem to be that easy to now activate my paid for and
perfectly legitimate copy of windows. What sort of stupid
system is this?, and more importantly what can i do about
it?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Phil,

While it does seem inconvinient for most people, if you
activate Windows anytime within 4 months, you will not be
able to reactivate the product key until after that 4
month time frame. This is to ensure that it is a
legitimate copy and that it is not being used on more than
one computer. Read the terms and conditions of the
license agreement.
