Windows Activation

I had to change to Windows XP Professional from Windows
2000 Professional in order to work with the Avid XPress
3.5 software.

I want to give my copy of Windows 2000 (and Product key
sticker) to someone.

Will they have trouble activating this copy on their
computer?

Win 2000 doesn't require activation, only XP.
as long as you do not retain ANY copy of w2k,nor a backup
older pc with same w2k installed, and you give all items
to the person, ie original install cd install key, etc etc
etc, then they should have no problems..

All they will need to do is enter the key when loading the OS.. it will not require activating.
