Windows 98s Fails at start-up

At work, someone tried to install windows xp on my pc. It failed but now when
I try to boot the pc, I have to push f8 and chose the operating system. If I
do not, it wants the cd installed to complete the change. How do I get rid of
the part of the xp install?

You get your IT staff/person to fix it.
Seriously. That's what they get paid for.

Otherwise you might be able to edit the BOOT.INI to change the choices - but
it has been so long since I saw a Windows 98 to Windows XP upgrade - not
sure if that is how it actually works. hah

(Google for 'edit boot.ini'.)
