hi I know this is an xp site, but I've been unable to find help elsewhere!
How do I use COSMOS to detect my hdd? I've tried the cables in ide1 and ide2
but it will not detect. PLEASE HELP!!!
 
Your question is akin to asking "where are French fries located on a
restaurant menu?" -- there is no definitive "answer" because every
restaurant lays out their menus differently.

The manner in which a particular BIOS implements Auto Detect of drives
depends entirely upon the CMOS instruction set of your particular
motherboard. Read the section on "BIOS" in your motherboard's manual for
detailed instructions.
