Hi

I just installed Windows XP home edition on my computor
that had Windows 98 on it. Now, when I go to start and
programs none of installed programs are shown. If I go
into Windows Explorer they are still all there. Even if I
try to click on a application file to start a program I
get a can not find .dll error. Please tell me I don't
have to re-install all of my programs..

Did you just transfer the program data files from a backup? Many programs
rely on files and registry entries that cannot be found in the actual
program folder, thus a straight transfer may affect the performance of any
given program. I'm sure you could do a web hunt for the missing .dll files,
but I would highly recommend reinstalling the programs so that any and all
necessary data would be installed in its proper place.
