windows 95 network browsing/connecting

Hi,

Does anyone know why a windows 95 machine is not able to browse the network
neighbourhood nor to connect to a network share from a windows xp pro
system?
'File and printer sharing for Microsoft networks' has been installed, the
network settings are ok and I get a reply with ping.
The only thing I could find that this is related to master browser problems
although changing the 'Browse Mater' value in the 'File and printer sharing
for Microsoft networks' properties windows from Automatic to Disabled or
Enabled, does not change a bit.

Any help to solve this problem would be highly appreciated!

Do you log into your 95 box with a username and password that exists on the
XP box?
