Windows 7 phux disks formatted in XP?

I came across this:

which suggests that formatting a disk in XP then plugging
it into a Windows 7 craputer will stuff the MFT!
IS THIS SO?

After format, why would you need to Recovery for?
Just do not Quick Format and you have no need to Recovery right!
