Windows 3.1 generic printer drivers in XP?

Tommy

I have a program that requires me to load the windows
generic printer drivers from 3.1 to use in all other
versions of windows (95,98,me)to be able to print on a
dot matrix printer. I can't get xp to load the 3.1 driver
from my discs, can this be done or am I doing something
wrong?
Thanks

Yes, trying to use XP with outdated and unsupported hardware. Win 3.1
supported hardware is just plain useless. Better look for a dot matrix
printer that will work with XP.

The Program is One Write Plus Accounting Software. It
will not print invoices or checks correctly using the
orginial printer driver or any other version of the
generic printer driver other than windows 3.1. So they
require you to load the 3.1 driver in all versions of
windows 3.1,95,98, ME. It specifically tells you this in
ther manual. But this is all before xp came out. I have
since upgraded to a new computer and now I can't get the
older drivers to load. The printer overuns using the xp
generic driver just as it did with 95,98,ME. They say
that the only fix now is to change to the laser style
printer and change out all forms and checks.

Thanks
Tommy
