I'm running XP on my dektop right now, and it's supposed to be the center of my network, in terms of sharing (printer, files, etc.). I have 2 laptops running Windows 2K. All three computers are hooked up to a router, two by cord and one of the laptops by a wireless card. My problem is that the one that is running wirelessly is unable to detect any of the other computers on the network, and none of the other ones can detect it for that matter. My next problem is when I go to My network Places on my desktop, and try to see the computers in the workgroup it's in. Generally, it should at least show itself as part of the workgroup, but in my case, a warning pop-up comes up saying that the workgroup is inaccessible. And lastly on the wired laptop, I can access the desktop, and yet none of the computers can access it. I've tried a bunch of different times to re-setup the network with no change, and I'm at the end of my rope. Any help I can get with this convoluted network will be greatly appreciated.
