I have an Adtron Accent external scsi card reader, which I
use to read compact flash picture cards (with adapter
PCMCIA) which worked perfectly, under WIN98se and WIN2000
PRO, until I applied SP4 to WIN2000P. When I did that, I
could no longer read the card (please insert card)
although windows said the card reader was working fine.
Can you help?
Reverting to SP2 allows me to read the cards properly.

There is no software. This is a scsi II device attached
to the legacy chain of an Adaptec 29160 card, using the
Windows supplied driver. All other devices on the chain
work perfectly, and windows says the card reader is
working properly, but then has a brain seizure when it
tries to read the card.

Have you considered the possibility that the card reader is the thing
that has had the seizure? After all everything else of the chain is
fine. Did it get disconnected at any time? It may just be coincidence.

Cheers,

Cliff
