I am trying to loan IPOD software into my computer which
uses Windows 2000 Professional. While trying to load
software a screen came up and said need Windows 2000 (SP4)
or Windows XP. What is the SP4 after the Windows 2000?
Will the Windows version I have, have this SP4 on it?

Open Windows Internet explorer and go to tools - windows update.
Scan for updates. You may have to install newer update software.

If you need SP 4 it will be listed. FYI you should visit this site
"regularly" for critical updates. This is a MAJOR step in securing your
computer.

SP4 is the fourth (and currently last) service pack for W2K. It also
contains SP1, SP2, and SP3. Service Packs are collections of patches and
improvements to Windows. You should download and install SP4 first, then go
to Windows Update and install all the Critical updates.

Btw, you can order a free CD of SP4. I did. It saves the long download and
keeps it available in case you need to rebuild your system.

You apparently need to learn how to keep your system up to date and secure.
Get AVG Free antivirus, Sygate Personal Firewall, and Ad-Aware, and SpyBot
Search and Destroy. They are all free. Install them, keep them up to date,
and run them often (weekly at least).

Good luck.

Good advice! Also check the Windows update site on a regular basis.
