windows 2000 won't start

i have installed windows 2000 on a p4 40 gig hard drive
256mg memory,2 network cards,onboard vidio
here's the concern:
windows will not startup after booting goes through the
password and user name then stops and goes no further.
if i re-boot and log on witht the administrator passord
everything works fine also ok in safe mode no real
programs install other than office and adobe 6.0 pdf
please help

Rename the problem profile folder
(c:\documents and settings\RKerr) to force
a new profile to be created.
