Windows 2000 Strange Network Issues.

Hi,

I have a Windows 2000 Server running service pack 4, two clients both
running Windows XP service pack 1a. I also have a Dlink DSL-604+ router and
HP Officejet D145 on the network, the network is wireless and all machine's
have Netgear MA311 wireless cards installed, except the HP OfficeJet which
is hard wired into the router. This is a development network before we roll
out wireless in our office and as such all machines were installed from
scratch.

The interesting thing which has occured is the Windows 2000 Server can't
ping the Dlink router or the HP OfficeJet but can ping the other two clients
and it's self, also the Windows 2000 Server can't browse the Internet.

The Dlink router has an IP address of 192.168.31.1 and is setup as the
gateway on all machines and the primary DNS, 192.168.31.2 is the ip address
of the Windows 2000 Server and is setup as the secondary DNS. The only
machine where this is different is the server it's self here the primary DNS
is it's IP address placing the routers IP address caused the machine to take
an age to load into Windows. The two Windows XP machines can ping every
device on the network. Does anybody have any suggestions of how I can get
the server to see the router and the OfficeJet?

Many thanks in advanced.

Iain

HOw many nics in the server and how are they setup? The internal should have
a blanc gateway and the DNS-numbers on both internal and external should
point to your DNS-server (IP of your W2000-server). Internal nic should be
on top in the bindings.
You only put the ISP-DNS in the forwarders of your DNS-server.
