Can anyone tell me how to customize the startup programs on Windows 2000? I'm
familiar with the process in Win98, but that doesn't appear to be the process
for Win2000. Any help out there?

start/run/msconfig
ignore the screens about config.sys/autoexec.bat/win.ini and system ini
Next screen is the system configuration tool
Look at the Startup tab en check/uncheck
or use any downloadable program like i.e. "winstart"

Success

The missing utility that you're referring to is called MSCONFIG, which is not
included in Win2K. The WinXP version of MSCONFIG works well in Win2K. Get it
here:

The above link also includes a download of its companion Help file.

Here's another freeware utility that you may want to consider using in addition
to msconfig. It, unlike msconfig, can also delete those orphaned or malware type
entries.
