I have a machine with W 2000.I confidured with automatic
loging and it works fine.Problem is when a boots, after
loading operating system (screen telling you "loading
W2000" with a progress bar)is finished the screen goes
black without any information, just completly black, and it
takes between 2 or 5 minutes (not always the same)to star
windows.(sometimes you see the grey screen with the user
and pasword filled and others not after that long time
without activity).During this time with black screen HDD
does not show any activity.

It looks like operatybg system was looking for some file
and after a time it just find it or skip the search.

Please some advice, it is really anoying.

Thanks in advance.

Jose.

are you in a network environment, are your dns servers wll configured?

look in your registry
(hklocalmachine\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run or run services)

may be there is a program that causes this
