Windows 2000 Start Menu Delays

I'd like to remove the delays that occur when selecting
subfolders. The subfolder contents appear slowly (fading
in) and take over 2 seconds to appear.

Two things:

1. Control Panel/Display/Effects/turn off the first option

and

2. Start/Run/Regedit, navigate to this key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

Change the value of "MenuShowDelay" from its default of
400 (which is in milliseconds) to something like 150 or 100.
Reboot so the change can take effect.
