Windows 2000 server Intermittent Printing

I have a 2000 server box that i set up 6 printers, shared them all, and use a
net use command at a remote computer on my internal network, to print through
these shares. the printers on the other end all have tcp\ip printservers
connected to them. When I try to print to these printers, it will print 2-5
pages fine but will then pause for 5-30 minutes then print 2-5 pages then
pause 5-30 minutes and on and on and on.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Check the size of the print jobs and the memory needed to manage them.

Other than that make sure that the printers aren't trying to do
bi-directional LPT communications. Really only business class printers
should be shared this way. If all else fails, try using the HP LJ4 or the
LJ 4500 (for color) on these printers to simplify the driver set.
