Windows 2000 PRO ICONS

I just was given a DELL Lattitude D600 laptop. It was imaged with the basic
software that is standard for our group. I added my Telecom software to
access my switches and remedy. When I created short-cuts the ICONS were
superimposed with what looks like a waste basket with white on red "UN". All
the IT tech are stumped and they said they would re-image the lap top. I
would like to find out what is the problem '?" and how to fix it. Anybody
have any ideas?

Thanks
