Hi,

We use a windows 2000 server machine as domain server in our office. By
mistake for making some application to work, on of our system administrator
downloaded MDAC old version from internet and installed it. After restarting
the machine, it keeps saying script error in what ever i open. I tried
installing the new version of MDAC but it did not work. I cannot open any
folders or anything in control panel. The error i get it

An error has occured in the script on this page

Line : 361
char : 13
Error : 'gFolder.HaveToShowWebViewBarricade' is null or not
an object
Code : 0
URL : File://c:\program files\folder.htt

Do you want to continue running scripts on this page ?

Please help me to solve this problem......

Thanks in advance

Regards
Venkat

Have you looked in event log to see if the system has any error logs you can
use for this? Normally MDAC can run with both versions on a single machine
without issue. What you may also do is try to find out where the MDAC was
installed and simply rename the directory. This will give an error when it
tries to load but then if you are able to get into control panel you can
rename the directory again and uninstall the old MDAC.

If in fact this is an MDAC issue. I do not think so. This issue is more
likely related to Security updates which inhibit the ShowHelp function. For
example I bet Help no longer works when clicking links which open a window
such as Network Connections.

Try this one:

Start | Help | Networking | TCP/IP | How To... | Install TCP/IP | click the
link up top Network and Dial-up Connections.
