Windows 2000 Freeze

Ocasional Windows 2000 freezes on me and its accomanied by
a high pitched sound if I am listening to music. This
happens with games or with surfing the interent. Anyone
seen this before. I just upgraded for Windows ME, by
formating hardrive and installing a fresh copy of windows
2000


Win 2000
Dell 1.1 Ghz
384 Ram
GeForcemx5200 128ram
Audigy Gamer
Direct X 9b

latest video and sound drivers as well.
 
You may have an intermittent interrupt conflict.
Try putting your adapter cards into different slots.
You could also tell your BIOS that you do NOT
have a P&P operating system, forcing the
motherboard to assign its own interrupts.
