Windows 2000 Desktop icons

I would like to know if there is a way to lock your icons
on the desktop so you are not able to place them anywhere
else. When you try to drag the icon to a different spot it
just returns to its original position. I tried using the
Active Desktop/ Lock desktop items feature and this seems
to do absolutely nothing.

If you have more than one user, suggest you setup separate user accounts for
each person, and one basic items concerning user is to establish user
authorities.

Your computer first should have no use in the main administrators account
and it should have COMPLEX password. You should also create a second
administrators account, and it be used only if something goes wrong with the
main account. Then establish individual accounts with limited privileges, so
that it's difficult for hackers to get in, Keep the User name and passwords
for these accounts in a locked up safe place.

Now for the immediate situation...

Right Click on your desktop > choose arrange icons > uncheck Auto Arrange by
clicking on it..

Do you share the computer with other users? You can reset the placement to
what you prefer if that is the case but you'll have to keep it secret.
