Windows 2000 clock continually changes time

Ben Spear

I have a W2k SBS that is brand new. The OS clock
continually speeds up between a half hour to 40 mins.
Each day. I set the server to sync time with the Navy
time server as per the MS knowledgebase. However the time
is still changing. This is a dual processor Intel Xeon
system on an Intel SE7501HG2 MB.

Reboot the machine, get into the BIOS setup and stay there
overnight. Does the clock still gain time? If yes then you have
a motherboard problem.
