Time keeps changing

I am running XP Home Edition SP2, Outlook 2007. My clock changes by one hour
at any given time. (When I run the update time command (double click the
clock, go to internet time, automatically synchronize is checked off. Server
is time.windows.com, I click update and it will update but it doesn't change
the clock to the correct time. It just says updated successfully) I have run
as many updates as I can find including kb933360, outlook 2007 dst update. I
also was able to run kb555440 (unregister/register time server) after
starting in safe mode. The big problem is when I sync my pocket pc, all my
appointments on the pocket pc change by an hour! (I have active sync 4.5 and
mobile 6.0 and ran the updates on that as well, went through hours of
customer service and even replaced the brand new phone with another brand new
phone)

Make sure you are set to the correct time zone.

I guess I should have written that I checked that about 30 times when going
through all the tech support. I was hoping for more details. Anything else I
can try?

I changed the time server to tock.usno.navy.mil and had it update. It
immediately changed my clock to be one hour behind! Something is wrong and I
hope we can get this figured out.

When it changes, is it *exactly* one hour off? If so, it sure sound s
like something is set wrong. If it's not the time zone, it the setting
to adjust for daylight savings time correct?

As I just said, in that case if the time zone is correct, the setting
to adjust for DST time has to be wrong then.

Ken, I always appreciate your answers but can you be more helpful? If I am
understanding you correctly, I made sure that my clock is set to DST (I am in
upstate NY) and the check box for DST is checked off. I have checked that,
many times. I even changed it and reset it several times as some others have
suggested after every update. Your response is not helpful in the sense that
it is not giving me any direction. Please, explain to me what changes I need
to make. I am frustrated as you can tell. (but not mad)

That's the problem. The check box for DST must be *on*.

Yes, the check box is checked. When I said it is checked off, that meant
there is a check inside the little box. So yes, it is in fact...."on". The
box has a check in it. I wish that was my problem!
