Windows 2000 AS with SMS 2.0

[Helpless...]

I want to set up a network at home, just 2 computers a
windows 2000 advance server and a windows 2000 client. I
have the software (all legal) but lack the know how....I
am trying to set up a SMS 2.0 network to learn this
product. I am not sure how to go about getting the
server configured to work as a PDC or BDC...can anyone
offer me any help.
