windows 200 server stopped logging application events

For some odd reason my exchange 5.5/windows 2000 server stopped logging all
application events. There are none in the log. Is there any possible
reason for this occuring? Where can I turn it back "on"?

Might they be filtered from your view? When you select the application
log do a view --> all records.

No, they are not filtered. I would revise my earlier statement with the
following (I was using eventid.net's viewer before with the regular windows
event viewer the results are a bit different). There are records that are
listed, but you cannot see the details of the records at all. They are
blank. When I double click on the icon it says "no event record is selected
or details for the selected record are unavailable".
