When I try to boot up my system, it gets to the loading personal settings,
then tries to log off and then tries to load personal settings again starting
this process over. Windows boots fine when I go into safe mode, but I can't
diagnose what's wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for getting back to me. It seems to be a problem when loading my
personal settings at the welcome screen. I can create a new profile, pick it
and windows boots up fine. When I pick the old profile (I was using tweakui
before to autolog and windows seems keep trying to log off, restart, log off,
etc.), windows jsut wants to shut down. I've run spybot, ad-aware and NAV to
check for infections, but found none. I'll try the link you gave. If you
come up with anything else, please let me know. Appreciate the help.

Hi,

If it's only happening to your user profile, then the profile is probably
corrupt and cannot be recovered. The simplest solution here is to create a
new one for yourself and copy the data from the existing one into it.

Note that one step not listed in the article is that after creating the
destination profile you must log into it once first to create the necessary
file structure before you do the copy procedure.
