Window XP logging not allowing user to logon to machine.

I am using WindowsXP with service pack 2 and which has all the current
updates applied. Recently, I started to experience a problem with logging on
to my machine. What is happening is that whenever the machine is started up
and windows loads, it displays the ctrl-atl-del dialog box that users need
to press to get the logon dialog box. When the user enters their username
and password, Windows then starts to go through the user logon process but
after a few seconds will flash a second dialog box on the screen which is
displayed so fast that the user can't tell what it says. Immediately after
that, the machine logs the user off and redisplays the ctrl-alt-del dialog
box again. This all is occurring without any intervention at all from the
user. Does anybody know why this is occurring and what is responsible for
it? Also, how do I go about fixing this issue?

Thanks

You may be able to get more info from the Event viewer.
HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;308427
Or,
Start > Run, copy & paste > eventvwr.msc /s & press Enter.
Scroll down to the last time your computer crashed and it should tell
you what device/driver caused the problem?
