"Window Text" mostly in italics

Suddenly I got this strange situation: for most of the windows I'm using
(e.g. GMail, Klassik Radio, Yahoo Mail, Google Search Results etc.) the
"Window Text" item appears in italics. I think that may be guilty one game
installing (Hoyle Board), but I'm not sure...
As I know the settings, I can't reach such details of setting Window items,
so - please - can someone tell me what could be happened and how I can repair
this?

Thanks in advance,
John Sandu

If this is only in the Internet windows , this can be a setting in the
browser you are using.

From the late, great MVP Alex Nichol:

When a rogue program decides to install its own version of system fonts,
it may replace the original version of the font file with a shortcut in
the font folder. Once this program is uninstalled, the shortcut may
now point to a font file that no longer exists. Windows XP in turn
reacts by turning all unspecified fonts into italics upon next
reboot. The simple way to fix this is to delete all shortcuts in the
font folder and replace them with the actual font file. By going to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Fonts],
you can also double check the path of each font and look for any
suspicious paths.

No change. And All fonts in Windows folder seem to be OK, including the
default MS [Sans] Serif or Arial.

I've uninstalled the big board of games (Hoyle), but nothing has changed,
nothing has repaired.

If I will not get a good hint, tomorrow I'll reinstall my Windows OS,
because I get very nervous seeing italics everywhere...

Did you do as I suggested and remove the shortcuts?

Yes, I found 2 shortcuts, but I think they're not related to the problem (for
example, one was referring MT Extra).
In the font list I've seen "Microsoft Sans Serife", but why do I remember
about an "MS Sans Serife" font? Even in the Word lists I remember seeing MS
Sans Serife and not "Microsoft Sans Serife"...
