I can't remember how I did it before so a little help please.

How do I make it so that when I open a window, it always opens the
same size?

Thanks in advance.

Drag your Window to the upper left corner. Then, go to the opposite corner
(lower right), when the cursor changes to a diagonal arrow, drag to the
desired size.

What I asked was how to keep the window at the same size each time it
is opened. Not how to resize the window. Now, once again, I want the
window to open up the same size when I open the window all the time
with out have to make adjustments.

In my experience, resize the window to the exact size you want it to open
in. Then File/Exit out of it, and it will remember from there on. Note:
this will NOT automatically set the window to open in Maximized view. Let
me know if this works for you -- it should.

After you re-size to your desired size, close by going to file/exit
It should remember from here on out

Well I guess that you have a real problem. My window size always stays put.

Try this:
Go to Windows Explorer. TOOLS/FOLDER OPTIONS. Under GENERAL, FOLDER
OPTIONS, Check Open Each Window in its own Window.

Open the window to the size you want, then hold down the shift key while
closing the window. It will then open to the size it was when you closed it
last.

He asks if he can change the default size of a window in Vista. You know,
every time you open up a window it opens many times in different sizes. He
asks how to make a default window size for all opening windows.

That didn't work either. Are you using Vista too?
I never had this problem in XP.

Actually, the proper answer is" Go to Windows Explorer Tools/Folder
Options. Under View, check "remember each folder's view settings.

Good. At least you got enough information to figure it out.

I have had this problem from the beginning.

It seems Vista has a problem remembering it's setting. Sometimes the
selection will stick, then again the next time you open windows explorer
it's back to its default setting.

The MVP's need to make MS aware of this.

You can't. It will work sometimes and not others. Even holding down the
Shift key when exiting won't always help. Get used to it - it's another new
feature in Vista.

Actually, that doesn't work either. I have tried that and everything else
that several people have suggested in various forums and it still doesn't
work ALL of the time. Granted, it does work MOST of the time.
