window size versus screen size?

please tell me how to alter my windows xp professional
software so that when I am online using windows explorer
the window fills the screen again. it used to do this.

Right-click your browser icon, click create shortcut. Right-click the shortcut,
properties, run, maximized. There is another trick, when you have manually resized
the window, hold down shift and tick the "x" in the corner, next time it will open in
full screen.
