Window can't execute Setup.exe

Good Day.

I'm using Windows 2000 Professional (5.00.2195) Service Pack 4. Recently I
have a problem with a DEM software and i need to uninstall and re-install it.
But when i clicked the Setup.exe from the installer, an error message
popped-up that reads : "C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not
suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose ' to
terminate the application."

Is the installer not compatible with the current OS i'm using anymore? Then
how should i overcome this problem? Pls help.

Btw i'm not using a pirated software.

Regards,

I'm sorry. I should have read the previous posted questions first. I'm
examining the article suggested by Dave Patrick.
