About a day or two ago I inquired about unistalling ME from the same
partition XP is located. I was told by two awesome tech people this was a
disaster waiting to happen, & I should perform a "Clean Install". I assumed
a "Clean Install" would be to re install XP, but I didn't wanna jump the gun
without consulting the experts. Please advise

"Clean install" means erasing your hard disk and reinstalling all your
software from scratch. Don't even think of trying one unless a) you are
thoroughly prepared and b) you have backed up all the data that is
important to you.

Yes, a clean reinstallation means reinstalling XP, but begins by formatting
the drive, thereby deleting *everything* on it. That means you will have to
also reinstall all your applications, and reload all your data from backups,
so make sure you have whatever you need backed up first.
