comes like always and I go thru it all as before when it gets to the part you
clk on burn as file or slide show I can click on either one and it goes to
next section and then the wizard says not able to performe this, so now what
can I do to get the winds xp burning to work;;

PS I also have roxio burning software on puter so I have to use it to burn a
cd and when I use roxio it will burn my cd,,,,but I would rather use the

Just a shot in the dark here, but I came across this same issue and it
worked for me. Give it a shot and see if it applies to you.

Open "My Computer"
Right-Click on your CD Burner and select Properities
On the CD properties window, select "Recording"
Make sure the "Enable CD recording on this device" is checked.

If it is checked then disable Roxio from starting when the computer
boots. This can be accomplished by using MSCONFIG. If you are unfamiliar
with this utility and the above does not fix your issue, post back. Hope
that helps.

As a last resort, you might want to try uninstalling Roxio. Again, this
has worked for me in the past. OH Also, I recently purchased a 50 pack
of Sony CDs only to discover that nearly half were bad (i.e. would not
burn). This has also happened before. I shipped them to Sony and they
sent me back another set with an apology. All of those worked for me.

Thanks Michael
Well I did everthing you told me and even bought some new cd/r and cd/rw and
still not working.I even did a disk clean and a full defrag. When I did the
roxio uninstall,I when in and emptied all the temp folders and prefetch and
when thru all folders and anything to do with roxio I deleted,so roxio is not
on puter this also include any Sonic software,So right now the only thing I
have on for burning is Nero express and I have had it for over a year and
never had problems with nero but I variley use it cause I like the way winds
xp burner works.Hope this all helps you on a answer for me I am trying all
kinds of things to do but no luck yet
Thanks Bill
