I have a pc running win xp pro. when i try to boot it goes
through post and displays the windows xp splash screen,
then it stops, returning to the post again, looping
forever. I have checked as much as i can in the bios.

Type booting to Safe mode (F8), just after your BIOS
post messages appear. If it boots successfully, then you
have either a Driver or an application at startup that is
causing the fault. If you have recently updated something,
the last action of that type is usually the cause.
Check the Event logs (Application & System) to locate any
error messages that can help lead you to the root cause.

For drivers, you can use the Rollback function to go back
to the previous driver. For applications, use Add/Remove
programs in the Control Panel.

If you aren't able to boot Safe Mode - your options are
limited to Recovery console type of fixes such as disk diags
(Chkdsk C: /R)
or
an in-place (Repair) install of XP.
