Win98 HDD can't see Win XP HDD

D

Dallas

Hi XPers,

Weird thing... Have my trusty old Win98 OS on Drive 1
Just installed a new Drive 2 and clean installed Win XP to it.
Used PartitionMagic's BootMagic to set up a multiboot for both drives.
Works fine.
Drive 2 with XP sees the Drive 1 and can read/write to it.
If I boot to Win98 on Drive 1 it can't find Drive 2.
If I boot from a DOS floppy it sees C: (Drive 1) but not D: (Drive 2)
The BIOS sees both drives.

Before I put XP on the drive and set up the multiboot, Drive 1 could see and
write to Drive 2

Yes, they are both FAT32 volumes.

Why would the installation of XP & BootMagic make the drive disappear????
Even when I boot DOS??

(Scratching my head)

If you are absolutely sure your XP partition is fat32, then you have set
your Win98 Boot Magic options to hide the XP partition.
Check your booting preference settings for Boot Magic.
