I'm currently setting up a Pc, that will be used with a TV screen not a
monitor, and I will be using it mostly for console emulators, and maybe some
other games.

I don't want to use XP on the system because there are some conflicts with
the hardware I am using, and i seem to have lost my win98 CD. Would there
be much difference with using win95? does it play games etc as fast, and do
current DirectX versions work with it? What version of win95 + what extras
do you suggest?

The system is a PII 400Mhz, 64mb, and i'll prob be using a voodoo3 with it,
but it currently holds a GeForce2 GTS (on loan from my main PC).

Thanks for any input,

Sam

I wouldn't really reccomend XP on your machine anyway. Stay away from 95. It's very unstable, doesn't support DirectX 8, lots of companies don't support it anymore (no new drivers, etc.) and MS isn't either. Go with 98SE is you must, and stay away from ME as well. Have you considered Windows 2000?

If possible, steer clear of WIN 95 unless you're going to be running a lot of games in DOS.

As for WIN 2K, that's a fine operating system but it's the absolute worst for not running many games, especially the older ones. Believe me I know cos I've tried.

WIN98 would be the best system for your computer especially in view of the Games you wish to run.

Lost your CD eh? You gotta PM.
