Hi there,
1) We're deploying Windows XP SP2 via RIS/PE (Volume License Key).
2) Our CMDB contains Win32_OperatingSystem.SerialNumber for each operationel
PC on the LAN.
Now via this SerialNumber, we want to report off our CMDB on "known" XP's
(i.e. deployed by our IT department) and "unknown" XP's (i.e. not deployed
via our RIS). How do we correlate our VLK with
Win32_OperatingSystem.SerialNumber in order to create such report.
Of course we can already eliminate xxxxx-OEM-xxxxxxx-xxxxx entries. Most
entries look like xxxxx-640-xxxxxxx-nnnnn (where x=constant and n=increasing
number with a lot of duplicates).
Does anyone have an idea on how the SerialNumber is generated...?
Thanks.
